A JOURNEY WITH STUDIO TERRAIN

In May, the Studio Terrain and Terrain teams, embarked on a journey to Europe. The aim was to gain inspiration for future projects, learn, and explore. Known for our global networking approach, Terrain invests in travel to understand architectural trends worldwide. Our recent European visit included stops in London, Paris, Reims, and Copenhagen.

Our first destination was the Chelsea Flower Show in London, where we admired remarkable gardens created by local architects, manufacturers, and gardeners. The event featured collaborations across various industries, showcasing outstanding beauty. The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is renowned for its horticultural excellence, offering something for every type of gardener. We felt fortunate to be part of this experience.

At the show, we reconnected with our friends from Allgreen, a company specializing in luxury natural stone surfaces and landscape products. Allgreen supplied a variety of stone formats for multiple installations at the show including the garden that won best in show.

While in London, we chartered a helicopter to the Allgreen’s headquarters followed by a tour of the Newt in Summerset.

Allgreen’s commitment to repurposing and upcycling products has set new trends, allowing for the creation of unique, bespoke gardens. Their 153,000 sqft production and distribution depot in Yeovil, Somerset, is supported by partnered quarries, brickworks, and recyclers across the UK, Europe, and beyond.

The Newt estate features 4,000 acres of English style gardens, woodland, farmland, and cyder orchards. Our inspiring walk-through of the estate was both educational and enlightening.

The Newt participated in the Chelsea Flower Show. This year, visitors experienced a glimpse of the Roman Empire, as The Newt team recreated a colonnaded courtyard inspired by ancient Pompeii. This peristyle garden allowed visitors to step back in time and immerse themselves in the era's colors, fragrances, and planting styles.

To conclude our visit, we were invited by the Allgreens’ team to the Clive Christian Interiors event in London’s Kensington District. Clive Christian Interiors combines the finest materials and traditional craftsmanship to create bespoke British luxury interiors. The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry professionals and plan future visits and projects.

Throughout our journey, the Studio Terrain team embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. We took numerous photos, connected with industry professionals, and absorbed valuable insights at every stop. This trip was a perfect blend of education and inspiration, allowing us to bring fresh ideas back to our projects.

We are excited to see what the future holds!
